Most summers, Susan travels to Italy to the Umbrian hill town of Deruta where she designs for one of the oldest majolica ceramic factories in Italy. While working at the U.Grazia factory, she handpaints her own samples and works directly with the artisans who still practice the same techniques from the 15th century.
